  1. I'm sure it was delicious, but I should think it could take a bit of getting used to a blue egg. I only recently found out that some hens lay blue eggs. Which breed is she? I presume, from what I read, that she will also have bluish earlobes.

Our chickens are due on Monday, so we are getting quite excited. I expect it will be a few weeks before they lay, but as Easter is in April this year we're very hopeful that we shall have our own eggs by then.

  2. The blue egg is from the Heritage Skyline (the one on the left in the photo from 8th Feb) and yes she has blue earlobes. Kirsty - who we bought them from - reckons she may even lay green eggs. I must confess it's nice to see non-brown eggs. I remember as a kid having white eggs all the time. Whatever happened to them?

Hope all goes well for Monday!
